Crowns and Bridges
Crowns are thimbles that fit over existing teeth which have been shaped and milled. They are used to protect teeth that are broken down or are used to improve the cosmetic appearance of unsightly teeth.
Crowns are usually white, however on back teeth gold crowns are sometimes used.
Bridges are used to replace missing teeth i.e. bridging a gap. To fill a gap the teeth either side of a gap are usually milled and shaped. A bridge is then constructed which is fixed onto the adjacent teeth using a permanent cement. They are not removable once fixed.
